Update

So I haven't done too well with this now have I?

Lets see, well since I last blogged I was in the process of working at my DREAM location (The Queen Mary). After going 4 times, wasting almost 2 tanks of gas, I never got a call back. Discouraging FOR SURE. BUT, finding out how much gas and time it takes to get there, not to mention the pay wasn't that great, it probably ended up being for the best. But I am a little bummed. It would be amazing to work on the ship. Maybe down the road a better position there will pop up, if we live closer. Louie STILL hasn't heard from TSA. He finished all he has to do, and now its just the waiting game. He's so anxious and wants this so badly.

My birthday was a couple weeks ago! I had a great day. My family all drove down to my moms, and we went to lunch at my favorite restaurant. Before lunch though my parents surprised us all that they bought a new house! I LOVE IT! I'm so excited. My parents have a horse boarding facility, so they are renting the house to a client to take care of the every day duties like feeding and whatnot, so my parents now that my dad is retired have the ability to go on vacations and whatnot. My mom *of course* will still be there every day though. We have spent the past week helping them move. I love the house. Its great. I can't wait until they are settled and we can go spend a few days there. Fingers crossed my Dad caves and puts in a pool!! Wishful thinking lol.

My brother also moved in with us, he hasn't been here much so there isn't that much of an adjustment yet, the kids will be staying here about every other week (switching off with the soon to be ex wife), and I will be taking the kids to school and what not to help my brother out since he doesn't get home from work until 6:30ish. Theres been some issues because of my ex sister in law. But a public blog isn't really the place to get into ALL of that drama lol.

While the kids were here last week, they have the southern california disneyland annual passes, so they were blocked most of the summer. Well the past Monday their passes were finally good again so Louie and I decided to surprise them. We decided to tell them we had to run an errand first thing the next morning. Come monday morning they wanted to know where we were going. We decided to make up a cheesy story about how we have to go see an exterminator because we had a MOUSE problem. haha!! The kids were kinda interested hoping they would get to see some bugs and stuff, so about a block away from Disneyland Louie stopped to get some gas, he took the kids inside to get a drink, and while they were inside I set up the video camera on the dashboard so we could film their reaction. When they got back in Louie said "hey guys, maybe we should go ask the Mice's cousin what to do about the problem" and they asked who that was and Louie told them Mickey Mouse, and they laughed lol. So I asked Alyssa "Alyssa do you know what that means?" and she said "yeah cause of the mice" and I told her "No, that means we're going to Disneyland, we were never going to see an exterminator, we wanted to surprise you, we are on our way there right now!" and the look on her face was priceless, and she goes "RIGHT NOW?!...your the best aunt EVER!" It was adorable. We all had a great time. Of course it was like 100 degrees that day which wasn't fun but kids seem to not even notice the heat lol.

Other than that, things are kinda same old same old over here. :)

Things might be looking up.

Today was a pretty good day. Louie went in to have his airport assessment, he is a little over half way done in his process of joining TSA. Its a long process, and this seemed to be one of the big hurdles. And he passed! Everything! He has a few more steps, and then he'll be placed into a pool based on when he can train (which is whenever) and after about two months of training (which is paid) he'll get his badge! He is so excited, and I am so proud of him. This is going to be a great thing for our little family.

As for our unemployment, luckily congress passed that extensions are able to continue again! So apparently we should be getting paperwork in the mail soon. Thank God. We had no idea our regular claim would run out so fast, so this will be a God send.

For me, I am going back to school. One of our local community colleges has a medical transcribing program that I'm going to attempt. I say attempt, because it frightens me a bit! lol. I'm not sure if I'll be able to handle it. I feel like I can, but I want to try it out. I was originally looking at those online schools, but you have to pay thousands of dollars, and a friend of my moms who is a doctor says alot of places look down on those "schools" and don't hire people from there. Plus, it would be better for me to be able to take one class at a time at our local college, and if I absolutely CANNOT grasp it, then I have the ability to stop after the class is over, and not waste thousands of dollars. I applied for the school last night and am waiting for my student number to come in the mail so I can make an appointment with the counselor. I don't know if its an actual program I need to sign up for, or if I just take the required classes to get my certificate. I tried calling today, but of course, they were closed. I dont think classes start for another 3 or 4 weeks, so I should be ok. I know some medical transcribers can work for home, so thats my ultimate goal, after working in a hospital or doctors office for awhile. Theres nothing I want more than to be home with my child, and be a room mom, take and pick them up for school, and not have day care raise MY kids, so if this possibly can allow us to do that financially, then I'm willing to do it. I just hope my brain can absorb all the medical terms! lol. Eventually we won't be living here at this house, we'll move on, and buy our OWN home, which of course comes with a mortgage two or three times what we pay now. So we need to be prepared and save for that. And obviously my clerical/administrative skills I have now, aren't helping me that much since in 7 months I haven't been hired. This economy sucks so bad. BUT, I'm hoping things are starting to look up. I hope anyway!

Not good at blogging lately!

So Sorry! I've been terrible with blogging lately.

Well, I can't really recall anything huge happening since the last time I blogged. We did have my niece and nephews birthday party a couple weeks ago, that was a nice time. I have pictures, but they aren't on my computer yet. :-/

The only other thing that's happened is we lost our unemployment. We've only had it since the very end of January and it was totally unexpected. My claim was until December, SO, I expected that's how long we would have for unemployment. Well the money we were allotted for our claim has run out. Apparently what we would NORMALLY have to do is file an extension. Well, (and forgive me but I don't really know all this political mumbo jumbo) but basically congress has now passed something were NO ONE can file for an extension, and those who already were ON a extension were cut off. So yeah, we found this out pretty much the day we received our last checks. I was panicking. Thank the Lord for my parents, who said they'd help us but still. We have BILLS. So that day I went on a application rampage. I literally sat at my computer and applied for jobs for Louie and I for over 10 hours. For everything. Including retail. Which I have STAYED AWAY from this whole time. My skills are administrative, that's what I was going for. I got an interview on the 1st of July for a customer service job at a corporate office for a furniture company, the interview went GREAT (it was actually the only interview I ever did, I never did one for my last job) the man told me about 2 weeks if I moved on the customer service manager would call me, and I never got a call. So of course, now I got a call back for a retail job. I'm not complaining, because I need whatever I can get at the moment, I just never saw myself working retail, AND its only a part time position, which frightens me. Just of not knowing how much my checks will be if I get bad hours kind of thing. I've just been applying for administrative positions for almost 7 months now, and I got the ONE interview that didn't come through. Its so frustrating. Louie is hopefully getting a warehouse job. Doesn't pay a whole lot, but like for me, he'll take what he can get. I just hope we get SOMETHING SOON. I've never not worked, or had NO money coming in. So is scary. :-/

Lately.

Not too much has been going on lately, but I decided to make a quick update. Last Sunday night, I headed down to LA. Monday morning at 6am Summit Entertainment was giving wrist bands for the Eclipse premiere. I wanted to go but for a while figured I couldn't do it because I couldn't afford to be away from home for 4 days. But then they had released info that as long as you got your wrist band, that was what held your spot and could leave until the premiere. So I had planned on stay through Sunday night, get my wrist band Monday and come back Wednesday night. Well, I meet the girls at a restaurant in LA, then after being told 5 different things on where we could line up UNTIL the morning, we get our spot and by 6am we start getting escorted to where we need to go to get the wrist bands, as we are getting them I find out, you CANNOT leave. Only for few hours at a time, and that they were doing random checks and if you missed a certain amount of checks your wrist band number was voided. Well after some other obligations and other drama, I didn't get to go. I was a little peeved, because of the rules being posted and being changed and that I had been waiting in LA for 10 hours before finding this out, let alone the money, and gas I wasted. But oh well. Thursday was the premiere but it was also the same day my best friend got her first apartment, her and her boyfriend moved into the same complex Louie and I got our first apartment in, and I really wanted to be there to help her move. I stayed at my moms since she lives closer to the complex than our house, and I went back Friday to help her some more. Only about half of the apartment got done until I had to go home, so I'm excited to go back once its all done and see it. ALREADY without it being done its so cute. I took some pictures, but I have put them on my computer yet so I'll have to post them later. After leaving there Friday I went and picked up Louies sisters. They had asked to come over and it worked out perfectly because Amandas apartment was literally 10 minutes away. So we've been spending the weekend with them, just hanging out, and watching True Blood. Which I better get back to because they are yelling at me to come back! lol.

Eclipse Screening.

Tonight was the screening of Eclipse. It was amazing. I was so lucky that along with getting picked, alot of my friends did as well. In the afternoon we met up with them at California Pizza Kitchen, and from there headed over to the Chinese Theater. Once we got in, we all sat down (http://www.thehillywoodshow.com/ guys sat right behind us also!), and the movie was supposed to start at 7:00pm. As we were waiting, Kaleb Nation ( http://www.twilightguy.com and author of Bran Hambric) comes over to a few of my friends I was there with that he knew. WELL, my wonderful friends knew how much I was hoping to see him, because I just love the guy, hes adorable, SO, they call him over, I was too embarrassed to look over there because I KNEW what they were doing, and he walks over, climbs over the rail to give me a hug, I could have died. We were both blushing hahaha. I told him I knew they would do this to me lol. It was worth all the embarrassment though ;). Well 7:20 rolls around and alot of random people started coming in, and security counting how many random empty seats there were. There was also alot of people walking around with head sets, and lots of cables, it seemed like something was up, BUT at the same time, I didn't want to get my hopes up. Across the street at Jimmy Kimmel, Taylor Kristen and Rob were filming their Twilight special (that airs the 23rd of this month). SO, the movie finally starts, after about 10-15 minutes, the screen goes black, then a guy who works for the theater comes out and says the were having some technical difficulties and to hold on. THEN, Jimmy Kimmel's face pops up on the screen, I would love to tell you what he said, but I couldn't hear over the screams, especially when it panned out and the Holy Trio was sitting there saying hello to us =D I do remember Jimmy saying something about an on screen kiss, and Kristen who was sitting in between of Taylor and Rob, pushes their heads together, it was funny. THEN, in walks Xaiver Samuel (who plays Riley), Peter Facinelli (who plays Carlisle), Bryce Dallas Howard (who plays Victoria) and Dakota Fanning (who plays Jane). Again, I think they said something, but the screams were deafening. They left pretty quickly but it was amazing to see them in person. So then they started the movie over from the beginning, which was nice because we were all so "oh my gosh, what just happened" haha, and let me just tell you. Perfection. Melissa Rosenberg and David Slade did an amazing job. Don't get me wrong, I loved the other movies too, but, you just finally got the LOVE story finally, you really felt it. The action was amazing, just everything was great. Once the movie ended, we all hung out in the lobby a bit, I got a picture with Kaleb, and some group shots. We couldn't bring our cameras or phones in, so I don't have all the pictures yet since they were from some other peoples cameras they had gotten, so I'll have to post those later. Afterwards we went to Starbucks, talked for awhile and headed home. It was so much fun. One of the best nights. Of course, because of my wonderful luck, I got super sick on the way home, but finally (at almost 4am) I feel much better, just completely awake. Of course. :)

All of us with Kaleb Nation!

SO EXCITED!

So the other day I was busy cleaning, and I got a facebook alert. As I was checking my facebook on my phone, I saw a fellow Twilight fan posted a link about Summit doing an early screening of Eclipse! They gave a certain amount of seats I guess to some fansites. So I emailed my info to who was in charge, totally not expecting anything. A few days later, I was hanging out with the hubby, and I had slept horrible the night before and I ended up falling asleep on the couch for about an hour, I heard my phone go off that I had gotten an email, and I GOT IN! I couldn't believe it. Not only did I get in, but a bunch of my friends did also! So perfect! The screening is this upcoming Monday. I am beyond excited!!! Eclipse is my favorite book out of the four, so its the movie I've been most looking forward to :)

Lunch with an old friend.

Sorry I've been HORRIBLE at bloggin lately. :(

But I'm making one now! ;)

So yesterday one of my old high school best friends called me, we hadn't seen in other in YEARS and wanted to know if I wanted to get together for lunch today. So we met at Olive Garden (best salad everrrr). Turns out, her boyfriends job is moving to Nashville, so they'll be moving out there in August! :( Of course, now we are super bummed that we haven't kept in touch very well all these years and now shes moving. So we said we HAD to get together a few more times before she left. She was so sweet, and brought me a little pot with some flowers and a card. I missed her so much! We sat there for hours talking, and realized we should probably leave, and talked in the car for about another hour or two. It was a nice day. :)

Nostalgic.

So 5 years ago when I was a senior in high school my psychology teacher has us write letters to ourselves that he would send 5 years later.

I recently got mine, and it was kinda sad. One of my best friends, Heather, got hers also, and we read them out loud together. Her's was way funnier than mine, she went all out and put pictures, things she liked and whatnot in it. I just had a letter. But it really made me think of how much fun (despite some things) we had together. We were best friends with another girl, who right after high school her and I had a falling out, over something SO STUPID. Lets just say it was over a guy, in a way, and it was just dumb. Things were misconstrued, and taken way out of proportion and everything just blew up. But this girl was one of my BEST FRIENDS. In the letter I had talked about how I knew the three of us would be friends our whole lives blah blah blah. Its sad. We had alot of fun. But in some way, so much damage was done, I think on both our sides, and I don't know if it can be repaired. I hoped it would, sometime in these past 5 years, but it just didn't. Plus then eventually I moved away, she moved to another state, she ended up moving back, but has since moved back there again. I had saw through a friends facebook she has one as well, but I just wonder if theres even a point anymore. For me there is, I would like to rekindle things, if it was possible, I just don't know if its possible on her end. I guess in a way I'm too afraid to find out. I just emailed my best friend for her opinion to see what she thinks. So we'll see. Just kinda makes me miss the old days. :-/

Long Beach Day.

So this past Monday Louie and I decided to spend the day in Long Beach. We have year passes to the Aquarium of the Pacific, so we decided to stop their first. It wasn't TOO busy, which was nice. We hung out there for a few hours, and then decided to head across the bay to the Queen Mary, we hadn't been since last August for mine and my sister in laws birthday. It doesn't cost anything to go on the ship (unless you want to do the tours of course) so we got some yummy shakes (they are seriously the best ice cream shakes in the world, no joke) and walked around the ship a bit. We went by the chapel we were married in and noticed they totally updated it! New carpet, new art work, and alot of other stuff. Dangit! lol. It looked so nice. Oh well :) We spent about an hour or so there and headed home. It was a nice day. Here's some pictures:

Road trip?

Hubby and I have been wanting to take a road trip for awhile now, but with being laid off, we haven't really looked to much into taking one. But we were talking today, and we really would like to take one BEFORE we go back to work since we have the time! We just really need to budget as much as possible. Where we would love to go is to Bodie, CA. Its a ghost town in Northern California, I had gone back when I was in 5th grade, and I've always wanted to go back. Louie and I love "old west" and ghost town stuff, we enjoy going to Calico which is alot closer to us, and we've gone to Tombstone (which wasn't as awesome as I thought it was going to be lol). I looked on mapquest how long it would take us to drive to Bodie (6.5 hours) but the way it shows we would drive would be by the sequoia and Yosemite, and we've ALWAYS wanted to stop there as well. I'm really really hoping we can budget with this, and go up there. Even better I hope maybe I could talk my parents into going with us. My dad just retired in January and my mom doesn't work, so its the ONLY time we'll EVER have the time to go somewhere for the weekend or something. Hopefully I can talk them into it. If not, I really hope Louie and I can at least go. If any of you have budget tips for road trips PLEASE SHARE! =D

Disneyland & Hats

So yesterday my best friend Amanda and I went to Disneyland. We both have annual passes, so after she got off work she came and picked me up. We got there around 12:00ish and decided to head over to Disneys California Adventure first to go on Toy Story Mania. SUCH A FUN RIDE! But it totally makes your arm tired lol. It was WAY hotter than we thought it would be too, so we decided to go into Disneyland get some lunch and people watch. We did that for probably around 3 hours haha. We got lunch at the Riverbelle Terrace near pirates of the Caribbean, and just sat there and talked and people watched. We did happen to see two infants (probably barely even a year old) choke. The first time the parents and grandparents rushed to help the baby, and she was ok, but the second time the mom fed him something, he started choking and she LAUGHED. He was ok, but it was just appalling. After a few hours of hanging out there we decided to head over to some shops. For whatever reason, for as long as I can remember, everywhere we go, we try on hats and take pictures. So of course, we did alot of that. We left shortly after that, and came home and Louie and I took her to our little local Thai restaurant for dinner. We LOVE Thai food, and she had never had it before. She liked it! So that was fun. Here's some pictures.
